My very first Polyvore creation and my favorite trends!

Country Spring in Seattle!

I own super similar pieces to all of these, and this is my new favorite outfit for Spring! I just bought a pair of blush colored jeans, and I think they'll go perfectly with denim tops and cute boots. I got a pair of darker pink as well, and I'm super excited! I've always avoided the colored jeans trend since I have such a curvy bottom half. I've had big ol' hips since I can remember! Even when I lost weight a few years ago, some things got smaller, but my bottom and hips seemed to stay the same. HRMPH. But I've started wearing leggings as pants, and I mean, that's pretty unforgiving. And it's made me a little more comfy. So I'm like WELP might as well, because colored jeans are super cute! So I can't wait to get my 2 pairs soon! I hope they look as cute on as they do in this set. ♥

I seriously love the whole denim and chambray trend. I have a nice little collection going now!

My closet contains:
♥ a light denim button up shirt
♥ a darker denim button up shirt
♥ a lightweight dark chambray button up shirt
♥ a chambray tunic
♥ a chambray skirt (blogged two posts ago)
♥ a belted denim button up dress
♥ at least 3 denim jackets

And I'm currently waiting on two more denim tops as well. So in love! I normally don't jump on trends, but being from Nashville, I feel like I'm a little obligated to love denim and western inspired anything. I mean I've always had tons of plaid shirts, and I have 3 pairs of cowboy boots (plus my harness boots that I practically live in). So of course I'm loving all of the denim lately!

It's so funny because I remember my mom wearing the oversized denim tops back when I was young. I remember a few so vividly! One had a Hard Rock Cafe logo that she got from a trip to Chicago, and one had tan, suede-feeling collars and cuffs with tortoise shell buttons. It's so crazy that they're back in style! I love it.

What trends are y'all currently obsessed with? I'm curious!
Oh, goodness! I can't believe it's been an entire week since I last posted. This week just flew by. I was so excited to get back to work, and I had such a fun week seeing everyone and getting back to normal life. But I was so sleepy when I got home every day, that I haven't had a chance to make a post!

I was able to snap two quick outfit shots in the work bathroom, though!

And I noticed this on the board at work where we can put thank you notes to fellow employees, and it made my whole week!

I seriously adore the people I work with. So much!

On Tuesday, I had to run back to the doctor's office. I've been super itchy all over my whole body ever since I started getting over my sinus infection and cold. It started on my legs, so I figured it had to do with my crazy tiger stripe rash from last week. But then it started moving to my back and tummy! I was waking up in the middle of the night so itchy that I couldn't get back to sleep. So I went back to the doctor, and it turns out that I'm allergic to the antibiotic she gave me for my head cold! My luck is just ridiculous lately! Phew. But the medicine is almost out of my system, so I'm just waiting it out! (And taking tons of Zyrtec and Benadryl and covering myself in cortisone cream!)

On Wednesday, work had a beer and pretzel party in celebration of spring. So awesome! And we got to shut everything down at 3:30 and goof off for a bit. We were all silly and giggly and had such a good time! And once everyone started to head out, I walked to a place called Berkley's with a few people from work, and we had a few more beers and some dinner.

I still had a fruit cup left over in my lunchbox. Fruit cups and PBR? Yesplz!

Last night, we headed to Macaroni grill, and I had some yummy spaghetti. Here's my table creation!

Today is super cleaning day! Our landlord is coming by at some point this month, and I want to make sure everything's nice and clean. I'm going through all of the stuff I want to put on eBay and getting everything separated and ready for pictures. Hopefully I can stay awake all day. All this Benadryl is knocking me out like crazy. Off to the cleanin' (and maybe nappin')!

OH WAIT. The Hallmark channel just started an I Love Lucy marathon. This might take a minute!

St. Patty's day outing and a real outfit post!

I was determined to get some photos using my good camera so I could make a proper outfit post, so I asked Matt to snap a few quick pictures out in the backyard before we left this morning!

thrifted floral button up shirt
J. Crew skirt
Target leggings
Target boots

Yay! So excited!

As for my list of things to do earlier, not as excited! I only got a few things done. (The things besides cleaning, of course.) Matt and I went to Goodwill, and we found a few cute things:

For us:
♥ two pink ceramic birdies
♥ a little red bubble gum machine
♥ a tiny German house made of wood to add to our other one!

For me:
♥ a pink and white striped button up shirt from Target
♥ a military-style button up shirt from J. Crew

For Matt:
♥ a tan vintage work jacket
♥ a light blue vintage work shirt

After our Goodwill trip, we headed over to this awesome new sushi place that just opened up, Sushi Maru. The Indian place wasn't really on the way, and I was completely fine with this decision! Sushi is my favorite. I had my typical stuff; a dragon roll, seaweed salad, their yummy cream puffs, and raspberry cheesecake. I know it sounds silly, but as much as I love sushi, I am terrified of the ngiri ones with the meat on the outside. I hate looking at raw fish for some reason, but today I decided I wanted to try a Rainbow roll, which are wrapped in sashimi. And I loved it! I'm so glad I tried it. I don't know if I'm brave enough for the flat-out ngiri quite yet, but I'm proud of my baby step!

After sushi, we saw The Lorax, which was super cute! I really, really enjoyed it. And the colors and artwork were just amazing. I couldn't stop picturing Andy from The Office, though!

Now I'm about to Wii fit a bit and hit the shower so my itchy leg will quit driving me crazy! I hope everyone has had an awesome, fun-filled St. Patty's day!

Outfits and ads!

Happy St. Paddy's day everyone! I completely forgot to put on green this morning, but my toesies are seafoam. So that kiiiinda counts!

I've wanted to do outfit posts since I started my blog, but I just haven't had the time quite yet. But yesterday I did take a quick iphone shot that I think will suffice! (Pardon the dirty mirror!) I wish I had been running early enough yesterday to actually bust out my real camera, but I was going so slow trying to get ready while blowing my nose every few minutes and taking inhaler puffs!

Next time I'll make sure to use a real camera! :P

Something I've been thinking about lately is promoting other blogs. I see everyone supporting each other with cute little sidebar ads, and I love all of the positivity and sweetness! So since I'm trying to get more readers and want to help friends do the same, I've been thinking about swapping ad space. I'm gonna make some banners this weekend, so let me know if you'd like to trade!

I'm still feeling kind of yucky, but if I was well enough to go to work yesterday, I'm well enough to play!

Today's plans include:
♥ Goodwillin'
♥ seeing The Lorax
♥ Indian food for lunch (YUM!)
♥ taking pictures for ebay listing
♥ and then super cleaning this messy house!

Now I need to get up off my lazy/still kinda sick butt and get all of this started!

Sick, AGAIN! D:

Welp, I'm home sick, yet again! I'll get to the sick stuff here in a second. But first, take a gander at this wonderful care package that I just received from my good friend, Ashlee, back home in Tennessee! I'm so excited!

It included some of the cutest stuff:
♥ a get well card
♥ a super sweet note
♥ hydrocortisone cream
♥ a bottle of aloe lotion
♥ a cupcake notebook
♥ two cupcake pens
♥ a "keep calm and have a cupcake" bookmark
♥ the Kawaii Not book she's been telling me about from her work
♥ an ice cream sandwich keychain that matches hers!

Ashlee's really been keeping me positive through all of my crappy health luck here lately. What an amazing friend to have!

So here's what's been going on. I stayed home Monday because my leg hurt so bad, but my throat and head starting hurting earlier that day, too. I tried to go into work on Tuesday, and I even wore pj pants to keep my leg from getting all irritated. (I'm so classy!) But by about 10am, I was coughing like crazy, my throat was super itchy, my head was all spinny, and my ears were so clogged up that I could barely hear! I was so out of it that I couldn't focus or grasp anything my callers were saying.

And to make it worse, I was squirming in my chair every time my pj pants even grazed my leg. At the risk of sounding like a puny little baby, I also got upset and got all teary eyed and sniffly two different times when people came to my desk and asked me how I was. How embarrassing, I know. :( But I just couldn't handle it. There was so much going on, and I was so miserable! So I came on home and made an appointment with my doctor.

Just like I was afraid of, the doctor told me that I have the exact same thing I had 3 weeks ago! She said it probably never fully went away, and she thinks it was stirred back up from all the airplane travel and all of the allergens and everything blooming while I was in Nashville. And apparently my poor chest has gotten worse. She said she could barely hear any air flow in my lungs, so she gave me a huge inhaler and the same antibiotic. And if I don't get any better, she wants to do a chest x-ray. My luck, I swear!

At least there was this cute old school scale at the doctor's office for me to snap a picture of!

Once I got home and got some medicine in me, I decided to draw a few little sketchy brits.

Me on Tuesday when I tried to go to work (I didn't feel like brushing my hair, and I really did wear this to work):

And me every other day:

I've been trying my best not let all of this sicky sick and hurty hurt get to me. I'm usually so stinkin' positive, but I guess everyone gets down sometimes. I just try so hard to stay super happy through things, but it can all build up and start a big ol' snowball of stuff. I just got a little sad and felt an accumulative effect of a few not-so-positive things all at once, and I'm sure that's what brought on the tears at my desk:

• a ridiculously painful leg and not being able to walk or let anything touch it (impossible!)
• a constant super hurty sinus-pressure headache, coughing all night, a runny nose, clogged ears, etc.
• the frustration of being sick after dealing with the exact same sickness a few weeks ago (are you srs?!)
• the worry of people being upset with me for missing so much work lately
• having to leave Mom and Cupcake after getting used to the comfort of seeing them every day for a week (it makes my heart hurt a little bit, honestly)
• feeling guilty for not being able to see everyone on my trip

I mean, that's a lot to try to deal with all at once for even the most positive person! Thankfully, my leg has eased up a bit, and I'm not limping anymore and can put weight on it. So yay for that! And my doctor's note says I can go back to work tomorrow, and even though I'm not quite feeling 100%, I'm so ready to get back to normal, silly life!

Oh, and all of these little Miffy papers were covering my desk when I got back on Tuesday! And I'm pretty sure I know who it was. Ahem, Gretchen, ahem!

In the meantime, I'm trying to rest a bunch so I feel up to working tomorrow. Here's what my day looks like so far:

The past two days, I've just been taking Benadryl-induced midday naps, watching Ugly Americans on Hulu, snacking on way too much cheese, and loving on Peaches a bunch.

And of course since I've been home and bored, I had to make a bunch of these!

She's been taking care of me all day with a mighty big dose of puppy lovins!

I hope everyone else is having a normal, not-so-sick Thursday! :D
